Closing Out a Permit
A permit can be Closed Out only after the Permittee has notified PennDOT that Permitted Work has been Completed or PennDOT completes that action in the system on behalf of the Permittee.
Note: An Applicant/Owner may request the assignment of a closed permit. This allows PennDOT Responders and Authorizers to change the ownership of a closed permit.
To close out a permit:
1. Navigate to the Inspections & Closeout Screen.
2. Enter or select a date for the Closeout Date field in the Closeout Information section.
3. Select the appropriate option for the Closeout Type field.
4. Enter the name of the Inspector in the Closed By field.
5. Select YES in the Pavement Modification field if the permitted work includes lane additions, lane or shoulder widening, or an overlay on one or more traffic lanes greater than 100 Linear Feet in length - otherwise select NO.
6. Optionally, enter additional Closeout Comments you wish to include in the Closed Permit record.
7. Click the Closeout Checklist button (hyperlink) to review any required closeout steps that may need to be completed before closing out the permit.
8. Click the Close Out button to save the closeout information, and close out the permit.
After a permit has been closed out:
· The permit status changes to Closed.
· A Closed Permit is generated (including a Closed watermark and the values for Closeout Date, Closeout Type, and Closed By in the Acknowledgement of Completion section), and then Emailed to the Applicant Team.
· An authorized user will still be able to Upload Attachments.
· An authorized user will still be able to Manage Inspectors (if necessary).
· An authorized user will still be able to Manage Reimbursable Records (if necessary).
